NORTHERN RED SEA TRIPS
Red Sea Diving Liveaboard on the M.Y.Juliet Thank you for your interest in visiting the Red Sea. This will be the eleventh year in succession that we have visited the Red Sea and we hope you will be able to join us and share in the magic of the Sinai, Dive Machine runs an average of 4-5 trips a year. Dates for 2008: Known since the time of the Pharaohs as the 'Land of Turquoise', the Sinai forms the junction between Africa and Asia. Here, where we are told Moses wandered for 40 years and King Solomon's mines lie buried, ranges of pink granite mountains backdrop a coast-line of turquoise reefs and indigo drop-offs. There is no better way for the diver to observe the classic Red Sea and some of her more remote locations than on a Liveaboard. such as M.Y.Juliet. More than one thousand species of fish, some five hundred species of coral and thousands of invertebrate reef dwellers make these areas outstanding. sinaimap.jpgIn the Red Sea the best visibility, most diverse concentration of marine life and greatest profusion of soft corals are found in the waters between the Tiran Straits and Port Sudan. The Ras Mohammed National Park, with regulations to protect and preserve marine life, was established in 1983. Even with the increase of divers over the years the pelagic shoals in the summer months are still as sensational as ever. The Boat M.Y.Juliet is a 24m (75 ft) twin screw motor cruiser built in 1997. Owned and designed by Yasser Gouda, who has a wealth of experience of divers needs, she is well equipped to provide dive exploration in style. Juliet has 7 twin berth cabins where the lower bunk is a double bed with en-suite bathrooms. The cabins all have an attractive mahogany interior and air conditioning. The salon is air-conditioned and has a TV/Video and stereo system to rival most Red Sea Liveaboards.! Juliet is a dry-boat as regards alcohol however it is totally acceptable by the crew for us to bring alcohol on board. We can normally arrange for some to be loaded on board if required. This is arranged before leaving Port or picked up in Sharm airport. The cost of the trip is only £799:00 + extra's as above: Holiday Supplements apply (£50:00) in peak season dates. We can arrange "Holiday & Diving Insurance" @ £40:00 if you do not have your own,
The amount of thermal protection you'll need underwater does depend on how much you feel the cold, but a 3mm-7mm wetsuit should be more than adequate dependant on time of year.Main Lounge Passports You will need to be in possession of a full 10 year passport. In addition it must be valid for at least six months after the date of return and have two blank pages to allow room for the visa stamps. Medical Considerations It is recommended that you have current vaccinations for the following: Hepatitis 'A', Polio, Typhoid, Tetanus. These vaccinations are not compulsory, but are strongly recommended. Please check with your General Practitioner for up to date requirements. Currency The currency in Egypt is the Egyptian Pound (LE). The approximate exchange rate is £1 = LE.9. You are unlikely to require any significant amount of spending money. Just enough to cover the cost of any alcohol consumed during the trip and for souvenirs purchased on the last day, which is spent in Sharm El Sheikh.
